Nesbitt, Hensick score in shootout as Peoria Rivermen down Hamilton Bulldogs 4-3

PEORIA, Ill. - Derek Nesbitt and T.J. Hensick scored in the shootout Tuesday as the Peoria Rivermen defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 4-3 in the American Hockey League.

Nesbitt scored twice in regulation for Peoria (12-11-4), while Scott Ford added a goal and an assist.

Jake Allen made 23 saves to get the win. Mark Cundari chipped in with two assists.

Brendan Gallagher scored in the shootout and in regulation for Hamilton (10-12-3), while Stefan Chaput had the Bulldogs' other two goals.

Robert Mayer made 32 saves in taking the loss.

Peoria led 3-1 after two quick goals early in the third, but Gallagher scored for Hamilton at 4:53 before Chaput tied it at 10:52.

The Rivermen finished the night 1-for-3 on the power play, while the Bulldogs were scoreless in five chances.
