Robinson with three goals as the Battalion crush the IceDogs

BRAMPTON, Ont. - Brandon Robinson scored three goals and added an assist as the Brampton Battalion cruised to a 7-1 win over the visiting Niagara IceDogs in Ontario Hockey League action on Sunday afternoon.

It was the first hat trick of the 17-year-old's OHL career and he now has nine goals and 19 points in 31 games.

"Great to get a big win against those guys," said Robinson. "We’re heading into the break on a high so we hope to build on that."

Matt MacLeod scored twice for the Battalion (17-14-5) and Patrik Machac had a goal and two assists.

Barclay Goodrow scored once and Marcus McIvor chipped in with four assists to round out Brampton's offence.

Mitchell Theoret had the lone goal for Niagara (20-13-2), which was without the services of forwards Ryan Strome, Brett Ritchie as well as defenceman Dougie Hamilton who are with Canada’s world junior hockey team.

Jake Smith made 15 saves for the Battalion while Brent Moran turned aside 25 of 32 shots in a losing cause.
