OHL Roundup: A look at Saturday's games

Vincent Trocheck scored twice and setup two more as the Saginaw Spirit doubled up the visiting Windsor Spitfires 6-3 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League play.

The 19-year-old forward now has 24 goals and 50 points in 33 games, which leads his club and is good for sixth in OHL scoring.

Garret Ross, Justin Kea, Eric Locke and Jimmy Lodge had a goal and an assist each for the Spirit (14-16-5), who won for the first time in three outings, while Dalton Young and Andrey Alexeev chipped in with two assists apiece.

Emerson Clark and Josh Ho-Sang each had a goal and an assist for the Spitfires (14-14-6) and Adam Bateman added a single goal.

Nikita Serebryakov stopped 38 shots for the victory as Jordan DeKort allowed three goals on 10 shots and was pulled 12 minutes into the game. Jaroslav Pavelka stopped 32-of-35 shots in 47 minutes of relief, but picked up the loss.

Saginaw went 2 for 6 on the power play while Windsor scored once on seven chances with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the OHL, it was: London 4, Guelph 3 (SO); Erie 4, Kitchener 3 (SO); Niagara 3, Sudbury 2 (OT); Mississauga 3, Belleville 1; Sarnia 7, Kingston 4; Barrie 2, Plymouth 0 and Owen Sound 4, Brampton 1.

At Guelph, Ont., Matt Rupert scored the winner in the shootout as London (28-5-2) edged the Storm (20-10-4) for the second time in as many nights to pick up its 20th straight victory.


Otters 4 Rangers 3 (SO)

At Erie, Pa., Dane Fox scored the winner in the shootout and Devin Williams stopped 45-of-48 shots as the Otters (10-19-5) won their third game in a row by edging Kitchener (19-10-4).


IceDogs 3 Wolves 2 (OT)

At St. Catharines, Ont., Mitchell Theoret scored 2:30 into overtime and Christopher Festarini made 29 saves as the IceDogs (20-12-2) slipped past Sudbury (13-16-6) for their first win in three outings.


Steelheads 3 Bulls 1

At Belleviile, Ont., Dylan Smoskowitz had a goal and an assist and Tyson Teichmann stopped 34 shots as Mississauga (18-11-3) downed the Bulls (19-11-4) to end its six-game winless streak.


Sting 7 Frontenacs 4

At Sarnia, Ont., Alex Galchenyuk scored three times and setup two more and Reid Boucher had two goals and an assist as the Sting (20-11-3) beat Kingston (17-15-1) for their eighth win in their last nine outings.


Colts 2 Whalers 0

At Barrie, Ont., Mathias Niederberger made 40 saves and Josh MacDonald and Steven Beyers scored as the Colts (21-9-1) blanked Plymouth (14-10-8), which is winless in its last seven games.


Attack 4 Battalion 1

At Owen Sound, Ont., Brandon Hope stopped 29 shots and Kurtis Gabriel had a goal and an assist as the Attack (23-8-3) ended its three-game slide with a win against Brampton (16-14-5).
