Fox scores winner in SO as the Otters edge the Rangers

ERIE, Pa. - Dane Fox scored the winner in the shootout as the Erie Otters edged the visiting Kitchener Rangers 4-3 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Jimmy McDowell had a goal and an assist for the Otters (10-19-5), who have won three straight games, while Connor Brown chipped in with two assists.

J.P. Labardo and Adam Pelech each scored once to round out Erie's offence.

Ben Thomson, Matt Schmalz and Darby Llewellyn scored for the Rangers (19-10-4).

Devin Williams stopped 45-of-48 shots for the win as Franky Palazzese made 20 saves in a losing cause.

Erie went 1 for 5 on the power play while Kitchener failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.
