OSHAWA, Ont. - Chris Carlisle had a goal and an assist as the Oshawa Generals downed the visiting Belleville Bulls 3-2 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.
Carlisle opened the scoring late in the first period for the Generals (19-12-3), who are now only one point behind the Bulls (19-10-4) for top spot in the East Division.
Bradley Latour gave Oshawa a 2-0 lead through two, scoring with two seconds remaining in the period.
Scott Simmonds put the Bulls on the board, snapping Daniel Altshuller's shutout 3:51 into the third period, but Scott Laughton's power-play goal restored the two-goal margin just before the midway point of the period.
Belleville's Brendan Gaunce closed out the scoring with 2:04 remaining.
Altshuller made 33 saves for his 19th win of the season, while Charlie Graham stopped 30-of-33 shots in a losing cause.
Oshawa went 1 for 3 on the power play while Belleville failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
