Galchenyuk scores twice as the Sting double up the Storm 4-2

SARNIA, Ont. - Alexander Galchenyuk scored twice and added an assist as the Sarnia Sting doubled up the visiting Guelph Storm 4-2 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.

The Montreal Canadiens' prospect now has 24 goals and 56 points in 32 games, which moves him into second in OHL scoring. Niagara IceDogs' forward Ryan Strome currently leads the league with 62 points in 32 contests.

Charles Sarault scored once and set up three more for the Sting (19-11-3), who have won six of their past seven games, while Reid Boucher had a goal and an assist.

Robby Fabbri and Matt Finn scored for the Storm (20-10-3), who had their three-game winning streak halted.

JP Anderson stopped 31-of-33 shots for his 16th win of the season as Garret Sparks made 23 saves in a losing cause.

Special teams factored in for both clubs as Sarnia went 2 for 5 on the power play while Guelph scored once on five chances with the man advantage.

Quote of the Day

We have no doubt how he can play. You don't, with four teams that are left, you're not getting here without good goaltending. All great goalies left, and [Bishop] is a top-tier goaltender in this league and he's shown it.
