Mark Dekanich makes 40 saves as St. John's IceCaps blank Providence Bruins 4-0

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Mark Dekanich made 40 saves Sunday as the St. John's IceCaps blanked the Providence Bruins 4-0 in the American Hockey League.

Spencer Machacek, Aaron Gagnon, Jason Gregoire and Paul Postma had the goals for St. John's (13-14-1).

Michael Hutchinson stopped 24 shots in taking the loss for the Bruins (14-9-2).

Gagnon opened the scoring just 45 seconds into the first, and Postma added a power-play goal at 18:26 as St. John's led 2-0 after one.

Machacek stretched the lead to 3-0 on another power play at 13:02 of the second before Gregoire rounded out the scoring at 13:14 of the third.
