Winquist, Lotz lead Everett Silvertips over Tri-City Americans 2-1 in a shootout

KENT, Wash. - Josh Winquist scored the only goal in the shootout and Austin Lotz finished with 45 saves and stopped all three Tri-City players in the shootout Tuesday as the Everett Silvertips rallied to beat the Americans 2-1 in the Western Hockey League.

Justin Feser ended an eight-game goal drought at 17:28 of the first period to give the Americans (18-12-3) a 1-0 lead they would hold until Everett's Carson Stadnyk tied the score at 10:46 of the third.

The Silvertips (13-20-2) had four power plays in the second period, including a 5-on-3 for 1:20, but had no luck against Eric Comrie and the Americans' defence.

Comrie, who has lost his last six starts, finished with 29 saves.

"Eric played terrific," Tri-City coach Jim Hiller said. "You give up one goal, you expect to win. We have to score more goals for him."

Quote of the Day

Your team is going to want to recapture the feeling. What they're going to have to figure out is they're going to have to rewrite the story. Because you're going to rewrite the story doesn't mean you want a different end. It's just that you're going to have to learn that there's different challenges to get there, and if you're going to try and tap the same feeling, it ain't going to happen.
