Brennan scores shootout winner as Rochester Americans down Abbotsford Heat 3-2

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - T.J. Brennan scored the only goal of the shootout Tuesday as the Rochester Americans defeated the Abbotsford Heat 3-2 in the American Hockey League.

The Rochester defenceman beat Abbotsford goalie Barry Brust in the sixth round of the shootout as the Americans improved to 11-9-2 on the season.

Luke Adam and Frederick Roy scored in regulation for Rochester, which got 29 saves from David Leggio.

Dustin Sylvester, with a goal and an assist, and Paul Byron replied for the Heat (14-4-6). Brust also finished with 29 saves in taking the loss.

Adam gave Rochester a 2-1 lead with 19 seconds left in the second period before Byron tied the score at 7:42 of the third.

The Americans finished the night 0-for-3 on the power play, while the Heat wound up 1-for-5.
