Roberts Lipsbergs scores twice to lead Thunderbirds over Blazers 3-1

KENT, Wash. - Roberts Lipsbergs scored twice Sunday as the Seattle Thunderbirds defeated the Kamloops Blazers 3-1 in the Western Hockey League.

Justin Hickman had the game-winning goal for Seattle (14-13-1), which got 30 saves from Brandon Glover.

Joe Kornelsen replied for Kamloops (21-7-3). Taran Kozun stopped 28 shots in defeat.

With the score tied 1-1 in the third, Hickman scored his seventh of the year off a feed from Riley Sheen at 16:52.

Lipsbergs then iced the game with his second of the night with 40 seconds to go into an empty net.

Both teams finished the 0-for-5 on the power play.
