Dupuis makes 29 saves as the Wolves down the Otters

SUDBURY, Ont. - Taylor Dupuis stopped 29 shots as the Sudbury Wolves edged the visiting Erie Otters 2-1 on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League play.

Dominik Kubalik and Dominik Kahun scored for the Wolves (11-15-4), who won for the first time in three outings.

Connor McDavid had the lone goal for the Otters (7-17-5), who are now winless in six games.

Oscar Dansk stopped 30-of-32 shots in the loss.

McDavid opened the scoring at 5:13 of the second period when he received a pass in the slot from Connor Brown and fooled Dupuis with a forehand-to-backhand deke.

Kubalik replied for Sudbury when he unloaded a shot from in front of the net that beat Dansk glove side at 12:38.

Kahun gave the Wolves the lead on the power play 3:19 into the third period after he skated through the right face-off circle and placed a wrist shot into the top-left corner.

Sudbury went 1 for 4 on the power play, while Erie finished 0 for 2.

Quote of the Day

I was going nuts and I saw [Subban], he was going crazy, and the ref had no idea where to go. [Subban] was skating to me, and I was skating to him and the ref was right in between us and I don't know, I kind of hit him pretty hard, I thought, but those were some emotions and I'm pretty sure he understands that.
