PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Radek Faksa scored the shootout winner and once more in regulation time as the Kitchener Rangers edged the host Plymouth Whalers 5-4 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Matia Marcantuoni, Ben Thomson and Justin Bailey also scored for the Rangers (18-8-2), who have won back-to-back games by way of the shootout.
Ryan Hartman had two goals and an assist for the Whalers (14-8-5), while Rickard Rakell chipped in with three assists.
Garret Meurs and Matthew Mistele each scored once to round out Plymouth's offence.
Franky Palazzese made 38 saves, and stopped all three shooters in the shootout, for the win as Alex Nedeljkovic stopped 26 shots in a losing cause.
Kitchener went 2 for 2 on the power play while Plymouth failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.
