Polivka stops 30 shots as the Royals blank the Cougars

PRINCE GEORGE, B.C. - Patrik Polivka stopped all 30 shots he faced as the Victoria Royals blanked the host Prince George Cougars 2-0 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.

Jamie Crooks and Austin Carroll each scored for the Royals (14-12-1) while Alex Gogolev assisted on both goals.

Mac Engel turned aside 26-of-28 shots in a losing cause for the Cougars (9-13-4), who have dropped back-to-back outings.

Victoria went 1-for-5 on the power play while Prince George failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.

Quote of the Day

Obviously a lot happened in a short period of time. At the end of the day, considering everything I went through, I really felt close to my teammates and I really feel like what we accomplished, I know we didn't win it all. ... I'm really proud of how we got there and what we did once we got there.
