Adam Henrique, a Calder Trophy finalist last season, injured his left thumb in an American Hockey League game Sunday and is expected to miss four to six weeks after undergoing surgery on Thursday, according to Albany Devils general manager Chris Lamoriello.
Henrique, who had 51 points for the New Jersey Devils last season, injured the ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb in a game against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in Atlantic City, N.J.
Henrique has five goals and three assists in 16 games with the Albany Devils this season.
I got a chance to play a thousand games and that's pretty special to me. To get a thousand [points], it's a great accomplishment. I'm not going to hide my feelings, I'm proud of that. To do it on a win, do it on a goal, I think it makes it special.
