Puempel scores three times as the Rangers beat the Otters 4-2

ERIE, Pa. - Matt Puempel scored three times as the Kitchener Rangers doubled up the host Erie Otters 4-2 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Matia Marcantuoni had a goal and an assist for the Rangers (16-7-2) while Tobias Rieder and Radek Faksa each had two assists.

Spencer Abraham and J.P. Labardo scored for the Otters (7-14-4), who have dropped three games in a row.

Labardo's goal was initially waved off, but was overturned by the video replay judge.

John Gibson stopped 33-of-35 shots for the win as Oscar Dansk made 21 saves in a losing cause.

Kitchener went 2-for-5 on the power play while Erie scored once on three chances with the man advantage.
