PORTLAND, Ore. - Brendan Leipsic set up all three of his club's goals as the Portland Winterhawks blanked the visiting Vancouver Giants 3-0 on Wednesday night in Western Hockey League action.
The 18-year-old forward has recorded nine straight multi-point games and in those nine games he has six goals and 22 points.
Brendan Burke stopped 18 shots for his first WHL shutout.
Nicolas Petan scored twice and added an assist for the Winterhawks (18-4-1) and Ty Rattie had a goal and an assist.
Petan now has 13 goals and 40 points in 23 games, which places him third in league scoring.
Payton Lee made 37 saves for the Giants (7-16-0), who have dropped three straight decisions and own the worst record in the WHL.
Portland went 0-for-3 on the power play while Vancouver failed to score on its only chance with the man advantage.
