PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Matt Mahalak stopped all 26 shots he faced as the Plymouth Whalers blanked the visiting Windsor Spitfires 3-0 on Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League action.
Tom Wilson, Alex Aleardi, and Zach Bratina each scored for the Whalers (12-7-4), who now sit in first in the West Division standings.
Jaroslav Pavelka stopped 49-of-52 shots in a losing cause for the Spitfires (9-10-5), who have dropped three games in a row.
Plymouth went 0-for-6 on the power play while Windsor failed to score on three chances with the man advantage.
Wilson scored the only goal of the first period and it stood up as the game winner. At 11:36 Wilson put back a rebound from a shot taken by Austin Levi from the left point.
Aleardi and Bratina then scored 54 seconds apart in the second period to put the game away.
