WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Riley Holzapfel scored a late power-play goal to help the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins edge the Toronto Marlies 2-1 in American Hockey League play Saturday.
Holzapfel beat Marlies goaltender Ben Scrivens at 17:11 in the third to put the Penguins ahead for good.
Will Acton had the lone goal for Toronto (9-7-1), and Scrivens finished with 23 saves.
After two scoreless periods, Acton put the Marlies ahead 6:56 into the third.
It was a short-lived lead. Despres tied the game less than three minutes later before Holzapfel ended the game in the dying minutes.
