OSHAWA, Ont. - Josh Burnside scored twice, including the game winner, as the Mississauga Steelheads downed the host Oshawa Generals 5-3 on Sunday in Ontario Hockey League play.
After finding himself alone in front of Oshawa's net, Burnside beat goaltender Daniel Altshuller five-hole with a backhand at 12:42 of the third period to put his club ahead 4-3.
Dylan Smoskowitz and Dylan DeMelo had a goal and an assist apiece for the Steelheads (16-6-1) while Stuart Percy chipped in with three assists.
Andrew Goldberg scored a single goal to round out Mississauga's scoring.
Boone Jenner scored twice for the Generals (12-10-3) and Trevor Morbeck scored the other.
Tyson Teichmann stopped 31-of-34 shots for the win while Altshuller turned away 22 shots in a losing cause.
Mississauga went 1-for-5 on the power play while Oshawa went 1-for-3.
