Feser scores twice to lead the Americans over the Rockets

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Justin Feser scored two short-handed goals and Eric Comrie had 42 saves to lead the Tri-City Americans to a 3-2 victory Saturday over the visiting Kelowna Rockets in Western Hockey League action.

Feser scored both of his goals in the first period on the same Kelowna power play and Drydn Dow assisted on both.

“Any goal counts and any goal is fun to score,” said Feser, who leads the Americans with 17 goals. “Short-handed ones are hard to come by.”

Tri-City (15-7-2), which jumped out to a 3-0 first-period lead, also got a power-play goal from Marcus Messier

Kelowna (12-7-2) came back in the second with a pair of goals.

Rourke Chartier scored on the power play at 13:50, and Ryan Olsen followed up 41 seconds later as his shot bounced off Tri-City defenseman Justin Hamonic’s skate and past Comrie.

Jordon Cooke stopped 22 shots in alosing cause.

Both clubs went 1-for-4 on the power play.
