Foster scores SO winner as the Giants beat the Pats 4-3

VANCOUVER - Thomas Foster scored the winner in the shootout as the Vancouver Giants edged the visiting Regina Pats 4-3 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.

Kale Kessy scored twice in regulation for the Giants (7-13-0) and Trevor Cheek had the other.

Lane Scheidl had a goal and two assists for the Pats (9-12-2) and Morgan Klimchuk and Kyle Burroughs each scored once.

Payton Lee made 25 saves for the win as Matt Hewitt stopped 27 shots in a losing cause.

Vancouver went 0-for-2 on the power play while Regina went 1-for-7.
