Comrie makes 41 saves as the Americans come back to beat the Rockets 3-2

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Eric Comrie stopped 41 shots and the Tri-City Americans scored three straight goals in the third period to come from behind and beat the Kelowna Rockets 3-2 on Friday night in Western Hockey League action.

“For us, it was 20 minutes of work,” Tri-City coach Jim Hiller said. “We didn’t work the first 40. We got schooled in a lot of areas of the game. The scoreboard was the only thing on our side tonight.”

Justin Feser scored the game-winner at 14:44 of the third for the Americans (14-7-2), who snapped Kelowna's five-game winning streak, and Parker Bowles and Connor Rankin scored the others.

Myles Bell and Ryan Olsen scored for the Rockets (12-7-2), who led 2-0 after 40 minutes of play.

Jordon Cooke made 19 saves in a losing cause.

Tri-City went 1-for-2 on the power play while Kelowna failed to score with three chances on the man advantage.

The Americans will host the Rockets in a rematch on Saturday at the Toyota Centre.
