Cassels scores twice as the Generals beat the Bulls 5-1

OSHAWA, Ont. - Cole Cassels scored twice, including the game-winner, as the Oshawa Generals beat the visiting Belleville Bulls 5-1 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Cassels buried his first of the game early in the second period on a power play, which was the eventual winner, while his second came just under eight minutes into the third and served as a much-needed insurance goal for the Generals (12-9-3), who snapped a four-game losing streak with the win.

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Tyler Biggs also scored a pair of goals, opening things up in the first with a shorthanded goal before adding another in the third.

Scott Sabourin rounded out the scoring for Oshawa with a third-period goal.

Stephen Silas scored the lone goal for the Bulls (11-7-3).

Daniel Altshuller made 26 saves for the win as Malcolm Subban stopped 25 shots in a losing cause.

Oshawa went 1-for-4 on the power play while Belleville went 1-for-7.
