Bennett scores SO winner as the Frontenacs beat the Spirit 5-4

KINGSTON, Ont. - Sam Bennett scored the only goal in the shootout as the Kingston Frontenacs beat the visiting Saginaw Spirit 5-4 on Sunday afternoon in Ontario Hockey League action.

Henri Ikonen and Darcy Greenaway had a goal and an assist apiece for the Frontenacs (10-9-0), who have won three straight games, and Billy Jenkins and Spencer Watson each scored once.

Erik Locke, Dalton Young, Vincent Trocheck and Nick Moutrey scored for the Spirit (8-10-3).

Mike Morrison made 33 saves for the win as Nikita Serebryakov turned away 35 shots in a losing cause.

Kingston went 3-for-5 on the power play while Saginaw scored once on three chances with the man advantage.
