SPOKANE, Wash. - Oliver Bjorkstrand scored twice and added an assist as the Portland Winterhawks crushed the host Spokane Chiefs 9-1 on Saturday in Western Hockey League play.

Chase De Leo, Keegan Iverson, Taylor Leier, Joe Mahon, Taylor Peters and Brendan Leipsic each had a goal and an assist for the Winterhawks (15-3-1), who have won 11 games in a row, and Seth Jones added a single goal.

Kirill Vorobev was the only Winterhawk skater not to record at least one point.

Brenden Kichton scored the lone goal for the Chiefs (14-7-0), who sit three points behind Portland for first in the U.S. Division standings.

Mac Carruth made 43 saves for the win as Eric Williams allowed four goals on 12 shots before getting pulled after one period of action. Garret Hughson stopped 19-of-24 shots in the final 40 minutes.

Portland went 2-for-5 on the power play while Spokane failed to score on seven chances with the man advantage.

Once again, it shows character in this dressing room. Once again, there's no quitting in here. We all wanted this so bad and we worked so hard to get home-ice advantage and we weren't going to let this one slide.
