Gibson makes 21 saves as the Rangers beat the Greyhounds 3-1

KITCHENER, Ont. - John Gibson stopped 21-of-22 shots as the Kitchener Rangers downed the visiting Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 3-1 on Friday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Ryan Murphy and Ben Thomson each had a goal and an assist for the Rangers (12-5-2), who have won four straight contests, and Matt Puempel had the other.

Dylan Staples scored the lone goal for the Greyhounds (9-9-1), who have dropped three games in a row.

Matt Murray stopped 39-of-42 shots in a losing cause.

Kitchener went 2-for-4 on the power play while Sault Ste. Marie scored once on three chances with the man advantage.
