LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - Macoy Erkamps, Sam Mckechnie and Brady Ramsay all scored in the third period as the Lethbridge Hurricanes dumped the Victoria Royals 4-2 on Wednesday in Western Hockey League play.

Daniel Johnston had a short-handed goal in the second period for Lethbridge (11-7-2), while Ty Rimmer made 32 saves for the win.

Steven Hodges and Brandon Magee supplied the offence for Victoria (9-9-0). Coleman Vollrath stopped 36 of 39 shots for the Royals.

Erkamps scored nearly six minutes into the third to give the Hurricanes a 2-1 lead.

Victoria's Hodges replied to tie the game, then Mckechnie put away the eventual winner at the 15:12-mark of the third period.

Ramsay added some insurance with an empty-net goal with four seconds left to play.

Neither team scored on the power play. Lethbridge went 0-for-5 on the man advantage, while the Royals were 0-for-6.

Quote of the Day

If you want to prove people wrong, you've just got to go out and do it. Yeah, we blew 3-2 series leads the last two years, but no one is going remember that if we go out there on Saturday night and beat these guys and go play in the Stanley Cup Final. We need to get back to work and we'll start to do that tomorrow.
