Malte Stromwall scores winner for Americans in 3-2 victory over Silvertips

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Malte Stromwall scored the winner at 6:59 of the third period, and Justin Feser added two assists as the Tri-City Americans beat the Everett Silvertips 3-2 on Friday night in Western Hockey League action.

"It wasn't a pretty game, but we got the job done," said Feser, who tied Patrick Holland and Ian McDonald for 12th on the Americans' all-time list with 145 career assists. "We did what we had to do in the third to keep them off the board."

The Americans (10-6-2) have beaten Everett (6-10-2) five consecutive times, including all four meetings this season.

Brian Williams and Beau McCue also scored for Tri-City to end a three-game slide. Eric Comrie finished with 19 saves as he picked up his 10th win of the season.

Stathis Soumelidis and Kohl Bauml scored for the Silvertips, who also got two assists from Ryan Murray and 25 saves from Austin Lotz.
