REGINA - Brooks Macek scored twice and added an assist as the Calgary Hitmen downed the Regina Pats 4-1 on Friday in Western Hockey League play.
Carson Samoridny had a goal and an assist for Calgary (9-4-3), while Spencer Humphries power-play goal in the second period stood as the eventual winner.
Chris Driedger made 30 saves for the win.
Kade Pilton was the lone scorer for Regina (6-11-1), while Matt Hewitt stopped 28 of 30 shots.
Oddly, Macek's goals were both into an empty net. He scored a minute into the third period and then again with five seconds left in the game.
Humphries goal came on the Hitmen's only power play, while the Pats couldn't score on their four man advantages.
