SAULT STE MARIE, Ont. - A three-goal second period helped lift the Ottawa 67's to a 6-1 victory over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in OHL play Friday.
Power-play goals by Jake Cardwell and Remy Giftopoulos 59 seconds apart along with a goal by Ryan Van Stralen midway through the second period gave the 67's a 4-1 lead.
Tyler Graovac scored his league-leading 15th and 16th goals of the season in the third period for the 67's.
Steven Janes scored for Ottawa in the opening period, 1:26 after Matt Fuller opened the scoring for the Greyhounds.
Goaltender Keegan Wilson stopped 24 shots for Ottawa (5-8-0-2).
Sault Ste. Marie goalie Matt Murray made 15 saves before being pulled after Ottawa's fourth goal. Justin Nichols stopped 16 shots the rest of the way for the Greyhounds (9-8-0-0).
The 67's went 3-for-4 on the power play, while the Greyhounds were held off the scoresheet on four power play opportunities.
