PETERBOROUGH, Ont. - Boone Jenner scored twice and added an assist to lead the Oshawa Generals to a 5-0 win over the Peterborough Petes in Ontario Hockey League play Thursday.
Scott Sabourin, Michael Dal Colle and Matt Petgrave added singles for Oshawa (10-5-2) while Daniel Altshuller made 29 saves for the shutout.
The Generals scored three power-play goals and added one short-handed score in a game they dominated from start to finish. Oshawa outshot Peterborough 17-4 in the first period, 26-13 in the second and 52-29 overall.
Jenner got things started with an unassisted power-play goal from the faceoff circle at 18:43 of the first period.
Peterborough (4-8-3) held on until the second period when Sabourin broke past the Petes defence, made a deke and flipped a backhander past Michael Giugovaz, who made 48 saves on the night.
Dal Colle added another power-play goal in the second, tapping home a rebound from a shot off the crossbar.
Jenner scored the only even-strength goal of the night at 4:47 in the third and Petgrave rounded out the scoring just under five minutes later.
