Chris Festarini stops 32 shots as Niagara IceDogs beat Kitchener Rangers 2-0

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. - Chris Festarini made 32 saves for his second shutout of the season as the Niagara IceDogs beat the Kitchener Rangers 2-0 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday night.

Ryan Strome scored his 10th goal of the season and added an assist on Brett Ritchie's empty-net goal as the IceDogs improved to 10-6-1.

Strome scored at 17:38 in the second period before Ritchie secured the win with just over a minute remaining in the third.

Kitchener goaltender John Gibson turned aside 25 shots as the Rangers fell to 8-5-2.

Quote of the Day

I downplayed the first one because I thought it's just a hockey game. We just want to win the game; it's against our rival and we want the two points. I downplayed it, but now having gone through the first one I look back and say, 'Geez, that was really cool.' I think as I've grown a bit older I've got a lot more appreciation for what we're allowed to do every day.
