Babintsev scores first OHL goal as the Steelheads beat the Battalion 5-1

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. - Sam Babintsev scored his first career Ontario Hockey League goal and added an assist to lead the Mississauga Steelheads to a 5-1 win over the visiting Brampton Battalion on Friday night at the Hershey Centre.

Josh Burnside, Kristoff Kontos, Brett Foy and Damian Bourne also scored for the Steelheads (8-4-1), who have won six of their last seven games.

Dylan Blujus scored the lone goal for the Battalion (5-5-5) on a second-period power play.

Spencer Martin stopped 30 shots for the win as Matej Machovsky turned aside 24 shots in a losing cause.

Mississauga went 0-for-2 on the power play while Brampton finished 1-for-5.

Quote of the Day

I remember the first time at Wrigley Field all of us had the long johns, the turtlenecks and the extra equipment because we were afraid of being cold. Halfway through the first period everybody's ripping everything off and we just ended up wearing what we would normally wear for a game at the United Center.
