Regina goalie Teagan Sacher makes 28 saves as Pats shut out Kootenay Ice 3-0

CRANBROOK, B.C. - Teagan Sacher made 28 saves Wednesday for his first career Western Hockey League shutout as the Regina Pats defeated the Kooteany Ice 3-0.

Lane Scheidl scored twice for Regina (6-7-1), while Colten Mayor added a goal and an assist.

Mackenzie Skapski made 17 saves in defeat for Kootenay (4-8-0), which lost defenceman Spencer Wand early after he was handed a game misconduct for a fight with Regina's Trent Oullette.

The Pats opened the scoring on the ensuing power play as Lane Scheidl skated through the slot and scored with a backhand shot high glove side.

Regina made it 2-0 early in the second off a faceoff as Mayor scored on a backhand of his own after being left alone in front.

Scheidl got his second of the game late in the period off a feed from Mayor on a 2-on-1 to make the score 3-0.

Quote of the Day

He seemed to thrive on his own and didn't really need any push from me. I certainly don't want to get in the way of the coaches. You see how that goes sometimes. I never really worried about it and just enjoyed the ride.
