ERIE, Pa. - J.P. Labardo scored twice and Luke Cairns added a goal and two assists Wednesday as the Erie Otters dismantled the Saginaw Spirit 7-1 in the Ontario Hockey League.

Jimmy McDowell and Connor Crisp, each with a goal and an assist, Hayden Hodgson and Connor Brown also scored for Erie (4-7-2).

Oscar Dansk made 34 saves to pick up the win.

Jimmy Lodge had the lone goal for Saginaw (4-7-2). Jake Paterson started between the pipes for the Spirit but gave up four goals on 15 shots. Nikita Serebryakov stopped 16-of-19 shots in relief.

Erie scored three times in both the first and second periods, including two power-play goals and two short-handed scores, on the way to the franchise's largest margin of victory since a 10-3 win in Kingston Feb. 13, 2011.

The Otters also scored their most goals in a game since an 8-7 shootout loss to the Spirit on March 2.

Special teams sparked the Otters to a 3-0 first-period lead, as they sandwiched two short-handed goals around a power-play goal in a span of seven minutes and never looked back.

For me, it's a great win for our hockey team and for a lot of people back in Columbus, especially our fans in particular … people who have been devoted to this organization, it's big.
