Mississauga Steelheads hammer Belleville Bulls 6-1 in OHL action

BELLEVILLE, Ont. - Stuart Percy, Damian Bourne and Riley Brace each had a goal and an assist Wednesday as the Mississauga Steelheads thumped the Belleville Bulls 6-1 in the Ontario Hockey League.

Lucas Venuto, Brett Foy and Spenser Cobbold also scored for the Steelheads (7-4-1), who got 25 saves from Spencer Martin.

Daniil Zharkov replied for Belleville (7-4-1).

Tied 1-1 after the first, Mississauga scored three goals in the second period to open things up.

Bourne got his first in the OHL and Brace followed that up with a power-play goal. Venuto then also added his first career goal after stepping over the Belleville blue-line and ripping a shot past Charlie Graham.

Graham was replaced by Malcolm Subban to start the third after making 16 saves on 20 shots.

Subban gave up goals in the third period to Foy and Cobbold, finishing the night with 10 saves.

Quote of the Day

That was something I've been dreaming of, something I've told myself before the third period I was going to do ... It was an amazing feeling. It's hard to describe. I didn't believe it went in at first but when I saw all the reaction and all the fans going crazy and my teammates going crazy, it's just an unbelievable feeling. I didn't know what to do. I didn't know whether to jump or just skate and do a Theo Fleury. I don't think I'm the same caliber player he is so I couldn't do it.
