QMJHL Roundup: Desjardins lifts Huskies over Foreurs with shootout goal

Gabriel Desjardins was all the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies needed in the shootout Tuesday.

Desjardins was the only scorer in the shootout as the Huskies edged the Val-d'Or Foreurs 4-3 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Maxime St-Cyr and Sven Andrighetto also had shots in the shootout for Rouyn-Noranda (10-3-1), but couldn't score.

Anton Zlobin, Michael Beaudry and Anthony Mantha all came up short in the shootout for Val-d'Or (5-7-1).

Robin Gusse made 12 saves to earn the win for the Huskies, while Francois Tremblay stopped 31 shots for the Foreurs.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was: Blainville-Boisbriand 7, Shawinigan 1.

At Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Andrighetto, St-Cyr and Steven Mercier scored in regulation for the Huskies, while Zlobin, Beaudry and Mantha replied for the Foreurs.

At Shawinigan, Que., Christopher Clapperton had two goals and an assist as Blainville-Boisbriand (10-2-2) scored seven unanswered goals against the Cataractes (2-9-2).
