Washington Capitals forward Nicklas Backstrom has joined Dynamo Moscow of the KHL, the team said on its website.

Washington Capitals forward Nicklas Backstrom has joined Dynamo Moscow of the KHL, the team said on its website.

Backstrom will be reunited with Capitals teammate Alexander Ovechkin.

Backstrom had 44 points in 42 games for the Capitals last season, his fifth in the NHL. He watched Dynamo's 4-1 win over Atlant on Saturday and likely will make his debut for the team Monday, the website said.
