Winquist scores twice as the Silvertips edge the Blades 3-2

SASKATOON - Joshua Winquist scored twice as Everett Silvertips defeated the Saskatoon Blades 3-2 in Western Hockey League action on Saturday night.

Manraj Hayer also scored for the Silvertips (5-7-1), who have picked up three straight victories, and Ryan Murray chipped in with two assists.

Darren Dietz scored both goals for the Blades (5-9-0), who have dropped back-to-back games.

Daniel Cotton turned away 31-of-33 shots for the win while Andrey Makarov made 24 saves in a losing cause.

Everett went 0-for-2 on the power play while Saskatoon went 2-for-5.

For me, it's a great win for our hockey team and for a lot of people back in Columbus, especially our fans in particular … people who have been devoted to this organization, it's big.
