Altshuller stops 26 shots as the Generals edge the Attack 2-1

OWEN SOUND, Ont. - Daniel Altshuller stopped 26-of-27 shots as the Oshawa Generals edged the host Owen Sound Attack 2-1 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League play.

Scott Laughton's goal 9:42 into the second period stood up as the winner for the Generals (8-3-1) while Geoffrey Schemitsch had the other.

Gemel Smith scored the lone goal for the Attack (8-2-1), who had their winning streak halted at five games.

Jordan Binnington turned away 27 shots in a losing cause for Owen Sound.

Oshawa failed to score on four chances with the man advantage while Owen Sound went 1-for-4.

Quote of the Day

I downplayed the first one because I thought it's just a hockey game. We just want to win the game; it's against our rival and we want the two points. I downplayed it, but now having gone through the first one I look back and say, 'Geez, that was really cool.' I think as I've grown a bit older I've got a lot more appreciation for what we're allowed to do every day.
