Spencer Martin stops 37 shots as Mississauga beats Sarnia 5-3

SARNIA, Ont. - Spencer Martin made 37 saves to help the Mississauga Steelheads beat the Sarnia Sting 5-3 in Ontario Hockey League action Thursday.

Captain Stuart Percy, Spenser Cobbold, Kris Kontos, Scott Teskey and Brett Foy each scored for the Steelheads (6-3-1), who have won four straight games.

Foy's insurance goal came just 25 seconds after the Sting pulled within 4-3 with 2:53 left in the third.

Charlie Sarault lead the Sting (5-4-1) with two goals, including a one short handed, early in the second, while Craig Hottot chipped in with a goal and an assist.

The loss snapped a four-game win streak for the Sting, who three times came within a goal of the Steelheads but never held the lead.

Neither teams' power plays worked as Mississauga ended the night 0 for 3, while the Sting missed on all four of their chances.

JP Anderson suffered the loss for the Sting allowing five goals on 28 shots.

Quote of the Day

I don't know how he does it. I don't know how he gets his body parallel with the player and pulls it through his legs like that. I know he's tried it a couple times in practice and it's never worked, so how he does it in a game, it's incredible.
