SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - Malcolm Subban made 27 saves and Jordan Subban had a goal and an assist as the Belleville Bulls won 5-3 over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Thursday night in the Ontario Hockey League.
A three-goal second period lifted the Bulls to the victory as Sergey Kuptsov, Subban and Michael Curtis scored to give the Bulls a 4-2 lead at the time.
Niki Petti scored in the third period to seal the win for the Bulls. Joseph Cramarossa also scored for Belleville (7-2-1), while defenceman Jake Worrad had three assists.
Chris Buonomo, Michael Schumacher and Sergey Tolchinsky scored for the Greyhounds (7-5-0).
Greyhounds goaltender Matt Murray stopped 30 shots in the loss.
Life's about opportunity and how you respond to that opportunity, and obviously he must have some swagger about him, some confidence about him, because he was solid. He made some good saves. He was 6-foot-3 on every shot, which is a good thing for a goalie. He played well. We got a win.
