Matej Stransky scores in overtime as Saskatoon Blades beat Tri-City Americans

SASKATOON - Matej Stransky scored at 1:16 of overtime Wednesday as the Saskatoon Blades defeated the Tri-City Americans 3-2 in the Western Hockey League.

Josh Nicholls scored twice in regulation for Saskatoon (5-7-0), while Andrey Makarov made 26 saves. Stransky also had an assist.

Lucas Nickles and Connor Rankin each had a goal and an assist for Tri-City (7-3-2).

Eric Comrie made 31 saves in taking the loss.

The Blades finished the night 0-for-5 on the power play, while the Americans wound up scoreless on four chances.

I didn't think it would actually work, but it ended up working, so I'm thanking my lucky stars tonight.
