Kohl Baumi scores twice as Everett Silvertips defeat Swift Current Broncos 3-1

SWIFT CURRENT, Sask. - Kohl Baumi scored twice Wednesday as the Everett Silvertips defeated the Swift Current Broncos 3-1 in the Western Hockey League.

Joshua Winquist had the other goal for Everett (3-7-1), which got 28 saves from Daniel Cotton. Ryan Murray added three assists.

Chance Lund had the only goal for the Broncos (4-3-4). Eetu Laurikainen stopped 27 shots in taking the loss.

Winquist opened the scoring at 2:32 of the first period with a short-handed goal before Baumi made it 2-0 at 18:15.

Lund cut the lead in half with a goal for Swift Current at 7:21 of the second, but Baumi scored into an empty net with 58 seconds left in regulation to seal the Everett victory.
