QMJHL Roundup: A look at Sunday's games

Zach O'Brien scored twice Sunday as the Acadie-Bathurst Titan defeated the host Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 5-2 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The 20-year-old forward picked up the game's first star and he now has eight goals and 16 points in eight games to leads his club in scoring.

Sean Girard, Adam Zboril and Alexandre Gosselin also scored for the Titan (5-4-2) while Christophe Lalancette chipped in with two assists.

Kyle Farrell and Charles Guevremont replied for the Screaming Eagles (2-6-3), who have dropped three straight.

Jacob Brennan made 25 saves for the win as Philippe Trudeau turned aside 26 shots in a losing effort.

Acadie-Bathurst went 2-for-2 on the power play while Cape Breton failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Rouyn-Noranda 3, Moncton 2; Victoriaville 5, Blainville-Boisbriand 3; and Chicoutimi 7, Gatineau 3.

At Sydney, N.S., O'Brien opened the scoring with a shorthanded goal at 8:21 of the first period.

O'Brien made it 2-0 for the Titan 1:07 into the second period, before Farrell put the Screaming Eagles on the board with a shorthanded goal of his own at 9:22.

While on the same power play, Gosselin responded for Acadie-Bathurst just 26 seconds later to make it 3-1 Titan after 40 minutes of play.

Zboril scored 7:27 into the third period to give the Titan a three-goal lead.

Guevremont added one more for Cape Breton at 12:04 while shorthanded but, like its previous power-play opportunity, Girard scored 40 seconds later while still up a man for Acadie-Bathurst.

Huskies 3, Wildcats 2

At Moncton, N.B., Sven Andrighetto scored the winner late in the third period and Denis Kamaev chipped in with two assists as Rouyn-Noranda (8-2-1) edged Moncton (4-6-0).

Tigres 5, Armada 3

At Boisbriand,Que., Angelo Miceli had two goals and two assists as Victoriaville (4-5-3) halted a five-game losing streak by beating the Armada (7-2-1).

Sagueneens 7, Olympiques 3

At Gatineau, Que., Laurent Dauphin scored twice and Charles Hudon had a goal and two assists as Chicoutimi (4-5-1) crushed the Olympiques (3-5-0).
