Stovin scores three times as the Blades down the Hurricanes 5-2

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - Brett Stovin scored three times as the Saskatoon Blades defeated the host Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Matthew Pufahl and Josh Nicholls also scored for the Blades (3-7-0), who snapped a five-game losing streak, while Travis McEvoy chipped in with three assists.

Sam Mckechnie and Jay Merkley each scored for the Hurricanes (3-6-0).

Andrey Makarov stopped 27 shots for the win as Ty Rimmer turned away 28 shots in defeat.

Saskatoon went 1-for-1 on the power play while Lethbridge failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.
