LETHBRIDGE, Alta. - Brett Stovin scored three times as the Saskatoon Blades defeated the host Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-2 on Saturday in Western Hockey League action.

Matthew Pufahl and Josh Nicholls also scored for the Blades (3-7-0), who snapped a five-game losing streak, while Travis McEvoy chipped in with three assists.

Sam Mckechnie and Jay Merkley each scored for the Hurricanes (3-6-0).

Andrey Makarov stopped 27 shots for the win as Ty Rimmer turned away 28 shots in defeat.

Saskatoon went 1-for-1 on the power play while Lethbridge failed to score on five chances with the man advantage.

It's hard to walk into that locker room and look those guys in the eye when they've played -- clearly, that was our best game we've played in the series -- and I thought we deserved a better fate tonight.
