Austin sets up three goals as the Bulls down the Generals 4-1

BELLEVILLE, Ont. - Brady Austin set up three goals, including the winner, as the Belleville Bulls downed the visiting Oshawa Generals 4-1 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Brendan Gaunce, Austen Brassard, Daniil Zharkov and Michael Curtis all scored for the Bulls (6-2-1).

Chris Carlisle scored the lone goal for the Generals (6-2-1).

Belleville went up 2-0 early in the first period with Gaunce and Brassard both scoring in the first five minutes of the game.

Gaunce's goal came off a broken play with the puck finding him at the side of the net while Brassard added his on the power play.

Oshawa managed to take advantage of one of its own penalties in the second period to get on the board.

Carlisle stepped out of the penalty box and took a pass while behind the Belleville defense before converting on a breakaway.

With the Generals supplying pressure, Malcolm Subban stood his ground long enough for Zharkov to fire a wrister with pin-point accuracy in the top corner for the insurance goal.

Curtis added Belleville's fourth goal into an empty net.

Subban made 44 saves for the win as Ken Appleby stopped 24 shots in a losing effort.

Belleville went 1-for-6 on the power play while Oshawa went 0-for-2.
