Fritsch scores twice as the Greyhounds down the Whalers 3-2 in OT

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Andrew Fritsch scored twice, including the winner 1:50 into overtime, as the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds edged the host Plymouth Whalers 3-2 on Saturday in Ontario Hockey League action.

Nick Cousins also scored for the Greyhounds (6-3-0), who were trailing 2-1 heading into the final period.

Alex Aleardi and Garrett Meurs scored for the Whalers (2-3-3), who have now dropped three straight games and sit last in the West Division.

Matt Murray stopped 31 shots for the win as Matt Mahalak finished with 30 saves in a losing effort.

Sault Ste. Marie went 0-for-7 on the power play while Plymouth failed to score on either of its chances with the man advantage.
