Daly statement regarding Alberta Labour Board ruling
Bill Daly, Deputy Commissioner of the National Hockey League, released the following statement regarding today's ruling by the Alberta Labour Board.

NEW YORK -- Bill Daly, Deputy Commissioner of the National Hockey League, released the following statement regarding today's ruling by the Alberta Labour Board:

"We are pleased with the Alberta Labour Board's ruling today that the lockout of Players is effective on a League-wide basis, including in Alberta, and we are extremely appreciative of the decisive manner in which the matter was handled.

"We are hopeful that this ruling will enable both the League and the NHL Players' Association to focus all of our efforts and energies on negotiating a new Collective Bargaining Agreement in order to get our game and our Players back on the ice."

Quote of the Day

I don't think it's really truly going to sink in until we drop the puck, to be honest. I know there's going to be a lot of smoke and mirrors with the media attention and all that. We came [Monday] and it was sort of a light day to get things organized. We just want to focus in on the business aspect, the game itself. That's what we're preparing to do. Get these next couple of days out of the way and it's game on.
