Sting use their power play to defeat the Greyhounds 6-3

SAULT STE MARIE, Ont. - The Sarnia Sting showed just how deadly their power play can be in a 6-3 victory over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Saturday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

The Sting (2-3-1) scored four power-play goals including two from Alex Galchenyuk, who also had two assists for four points and the game's first star.

Reid Boucher and Nikolay Goldobin also scored on the power play while Boucher chipped in two assists for a three-point outing.

Charles Sarault and Anthony DeAngelo each had a pair of assists as Justice Dundas and Craig Hottot each had a goal to round out Sarnia's offence.

Alex Gudbranson, Nick Cousins and Sergey Tolchinsky scored for the Greyhounds (5-2-0).

Brodie Barrick stopped 28 for the win as Matt Murray made 37 saves in a losing effort.

In total, the Sting went 4-for-6 on their power play while Sault Ste. Marie went 2-for-8.

The Greyhounds lost the services of Ryan Sproul, who entered the game second in team scoring with a goal and nine points, on the opening shift of the game to injury. Details on the injury were unavailable following the game.
